This video speaks for itself. If you’re this uptight when you carry, you shouldn’t be carrying. It’s incidents like this where innocent people get hurt.
During a traffic stop for a seat belt violation, a man was shot for reaching for his drivers license to show the officer…right after the officer asked him to do just that.
In the video released Wednesday night, Groubert asks for Jones’ license. Jones then checks his back pocket before going back to his vehicle.
Groubert then fires several shots at Jones before Jones falls to the ground.
While on the ground, Jones asks the officer what he did wrong, saying “What did I do, Sir?”. He seems to be unaware that he’s been shot at first and complies with the officer’s requests.
The officer is now facing assault and battery charges and could spend up to 20 years in prison. He posted $75,000 bond last night and is expected back in court on October 24th.
Jones is a lucky man and survived the shooting. He has since been released from the hospital.
