DC Concealed Carry Application Now Available Online

As of last night, the DC Metropolitan Police Department has made available the application to apply for your concealed carry permit, although most will likely be denied.

The literal name of the PDF file is:
Concealed Carry License_GoodReason Application_fillableform.pdf (file)

Of course, you’ll need to already be in danger to even be considered for the permit. One of the requirements is that you’re already faced with a threat, as noted in the application screenshot below:

Also included is the applicant giving them the ‘OK’ to dig through their mental health records. While this isn’t always an issue, it could be in the future. We’ve seen the power that provisions like this have in states such as NY, and it could turn into something far greater and reaching than it currently is.

While the processing of applications is promised to be completed quickly, you’ll still need to wait until the 16 hours of classroom safety training and two hours of proficiency training on the gun range are made available. These courses will not be required, however, if the Chief of Police does not find reasonable cause to issue you a permit. She’s really just trying to save you money.

If however, an applicant is approved, they will have 45 days to complete the required courses necessary to complete the process.

If any of you are planning to apply for your DC concealed carry permit, please let us know so that we can document the process as you move along.
