A pastor was forced to make the decision to pull the trigger while defending his family and his home, when a 14-year-old decided to break in while they were home.
Reverend Tom Vineyard, the pastor of Windsor Hills Baptist Church, was home with his family Sunday afternoon when 14-year-old Keontre Reese entered their home uninvited.
Local media sources report that an alarm in the home went off and alerted Vineyard to the intrusion. Fearing for his and his family’s lives, the pastor opened fire on the intruder, killing him.
Reese did not take the warnings seriously around the house, including a sign on the front door stating “Nothing on this property is worth your life.”
Vineyard is not expected to face any charges.
