UltiClip: Changing the Face of Concealed Carry

The number of Americans with concealed carry permits has been growing rapidly over recent years. As more and more Americans from more and more lifestyles get trained and choose to carry firearms, the popularity of varying concealed carry styles has increased, as have the number of tools available.

One of the pressures this has put on companies and manufacturers, is to develop a product that will allow various concealed carry styles with the same gun. As someone who chooses to carry in a variety of positions – whether that be behind the hip, pocket, or my favored appendix carry – every carry gun has, up until now, required a different holster for different positions.

One of the attempted solutions to this issue has been the clip holster, which uses a simple clip to allow the user to change the holster’s location with relative ease. These holsters are frequently plagued by quality issues, however. Retention is probably one of the most cited issues; regularly users end up drawing both their holster and firearm off their belt.

A company has emerged to solve these problems – Ulticlip. The Ulticlip replaces current holster clips with a revolutionary clamp design. The clamp provides excellent retention without requiring use of a belt, meaning it can be transferred from hip carry to appendix carry to pocket or even off the body carry.

Ulticlip brings a lot of options to the concealed carry market, and has been endorsed by industry professionals and experts such as Mike Hughes and Crossbreed Holsters. Crossbreed even went so far as to sell their holsters with the Ulticlip already attached.

I recently had the opportunity to talk with Randall Darby, the founder and designer of Ulticlip. Randall explained that the Ulticlip was designed out of necessity. Seeing no viable options on the market that provided ease of carry, concealment, unprecedented holster retention, and versatility in one product, he drew upon his own experience of more than a decade carrying concealed to create UltiClip to meet those needs.

As a full-time Missionary for over 20 years. Randall explained “Exceeding our desire to make a quality product is our vision to make a difference in this world. Ulticlip is a Christian run business. We believe that real change starts in the heart of man. For that reason Ulticlip gives a portion of the profit from each clip sold, to faith-based charities.”

The company officially introduced UltiClip at the USCCA Concealed Carry Expo in May of this year and is getting a lot of attention from the major holster manufacturers. You may start seeing them integrated into brand name holsters and they are also available directly from the website at www.ulticlip.com.

For the new, varied concealed carry market who is looking for ways to carry their firearm that work with their lifestyle and may not always be the most traditional, Ulticlip is the perfect solution for both retention and adaptability.
