GUN CONTROL GROUP: Call 911 If You See Anyone Carrying A Firearm And Have Doubts About Their Intentions

The group Coalition to Stop Gun Violence posted an interesting ‘call to action’ the other day, asking their users to call 911 if they see someone carrying a firearm.

Posts like this scare me, because these ‘calls for concern’ are likely to get someone killed one day. The only thing that has to happen is this:

911 Operator: 911, what is your emergency?
Paranoid Caller: I’m at the (insert store name here) in (insert location here) and there’s a guy walking around with a gun
911 Operator: Is he acting in a threatening manner?
Paranoid Caller: I don’t know, I’m trying to stay away because he might shoot me

The only information that responding officers have is that an armed man is inside the store, and prompted a phone call from a shopper. How they handle the situation is up to them, but police may likely be on high alert when they arrive.

It’s unnecessary stress for everyone involved, and there’s really no need for it.

After all, how many mass shooters walked around their intended targets with an exposed firearm prior to opening fire? Right, the answer is zero.

Here’s the real danger: A paranoid American public.
